Winter Spirit Week

Friday: Write a note for your favorite staff member
The PTA will be selling iron-on Santiago STEAM logos next week after school. The cost is $3, $5, or $7, depending on the size. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with Melissa at president@santiagopta.com.
Walk & Roll to School
December 20th
Join the STEAM Green Team in taking a step towards a greener planet. Even families who live far from school can participate. Take the bus, carpool, or drive part way to school, and walk the rest of the way with friends. We can’t wait to see you all making a difference for our environment.

Fall Festival & Silent Auction 2024
November 15th from 5:00-8:00PM
Students will receive FREE wristbands for games, inflatables, STEAM Booths and trick-or-treat trail. Siblings and friends can buy wristbands for $10.
Bring CASH for the snack bar or buy dinner at the TK Burgers Food Truck.

Scarecrows for STEAM Contest
Enter by Nov 6th
The 5th Annual Scarecrows for STEAM Contest is back! This time honored tradition encourages students and families to celebrate STEAM skills through 3 artistic categories (individual, family, group).
INDIVIDUAL entries, students may work on their own to draw, color, mold, or craft a small scarecrow with 9 prizes up for grabs.
FAMILIES can collaborate with their student(s) and enter with a full sized scarecrow of their own creation for the chance at 3 prizes, and bragging rights!
This year we’re bringing back the prize for a winning GROUP. Get creative with your Boy Scout Pack, Girl Scout Troop, Kids Factory or TLC friends, ELAC community, Garden Buddies, or any other Santiago group to create a full-sized scarecrow, and celebrate community.
Every student who enters will receive a Scarecrows for STEAM Spirit Button

Silent AUction - Volunteers Needed!
The silent auction is held during our Fall Festival, which will be on November 15th. Volunteers are needed to help make a silent auction basket for each classroom.
Rock Painting for New Space Garden
Volunteers needed!
Santiago STEAM Magnet Elementary was named NASA Moon Tree Stewards. To help the students build understanding and enthusiasm, we are organizing a variety of activities. We would love support from the adults in their lives!
First activity will be Rock Painting - Volunteers will assist Ms. Chambion outside the library with setting up, cleaning up, helping kids wash their hands, and general assistance. Every student will have the opportunity to use paint pens and glow in the dark paint to create a masterpiece that is out of this world. Finished rocks will become part of the upcoming space-theme garden. (October 7-11).
Raise Craze Fundraiser - The Kindess Challenge

What is Raise Craze?
Raise Craze is an online platform enabling students to set up secure, custom websites where they request donations via email, text, or social. During the fundraiser, students pay it forward by completing Acts of Kindness for others.
Why are we doing Raise Craze for our annual school fundraiser?
We want to continue to make our school a better place by providing helpful and enriching benefits to our students & families, but that takes money! We've chosen Raise Craze to help with these needs because it keeps kindness and inclusivity at the center, while allowing our school to keep 90% PLUS! WooHoo!

Santiago PTA Coffee Connections

The Santiago Steam Elementary PTA is organizing a get-together where we will have the wonderful opportunity to learn more about the essential role our PTA plays in fostering a thriving learning environment for our students.
Recycling Drive-Thru

Start saving those empty bottles and cans!
Instead of tossing them in your home bins, set them aside for a good cause! The first Friday of each month we’re collecting your recyclables. Simply take the “recycling” side of the drop off lane and hand them off to our friends from @pinkrecycling - so easy!
It takes just a minute to raise big money for Santiago’s green programs.
Accepted items: Beverage Cans, Plastic Bottles, Electronics & Scrap Metal. Large items by appointment only; presorting helpful but not required.
